About Doug Green
Doug Green is a long time
veteran of the nursery and garden writing world. He owned
his own nursery for 25 years and developed it into one of the regions
specialist plant locations by growing over 1800 varieties of perennials
and 600 varieties of annual flowers in his 20,000 square feet of retail
greenhouses.He closed the nursery in 1998 to write full time and to spend more time gardening and sailing.
He has written 7 gardening books (paper) including the award winning Gardening Wisdom and continues to write electronic books featured on his websites.
Doug has been writing his newspaper column for over 10 years and has written for many gardening magazines and websites.
He is currently heard on CJAI radio as the gardening voice for Canada's smallest radio station.
Doug works and lives out on an island in the 1000 Islands region of Lake Ontario in a USDA zone 4/5 garden where he grows as many plants as he can.
If not gardening or writing about gardening, he's likely sailing or working on his old Folkboat or Spitfire sportscar.
