I am fortunate to be able to live on an island that's famous for birding. We're on the migration route for summer songbirds and the winter nesting grounds for the larger arctic owls.

Our bird feeders are full from spring through fall with a wide variety of birds and I've started taking pics of some of them.

A garden is a great place for birds; not only do they consume massive quantities of insects (I love swallows for the amount of mosquitoes they eat every day) but they also court, fight, clown, and interact with you and your garden plants. The odd leaf or seed they may consume is nothing compared to the pleasure they bring to my garden home.

Wonders of Nature
by: mountaingirl

I too love to watch and feed the birds. It seems to me that gardening and nature go hand in hand, whether it is birds, butterflies or other creatures or insects. I have been gardening for many years yet manage to see some new creature every year in my simple garden of wonders.
