Use 4 window or door screens.

Screw 4 inch by 4 inch blocks at the top and bottom corners of two of the screens. You screw right through the metal frame.

Then placing the other screens as close as possible to the screen with the blocks (you don't want any big gaps) you screw the last two screens into the end of the blocks.

When you finish you have a big screen box.

The top is attached with hinges to one screen that has the wood block.

Caterpillars are very strong so it may be necessary to put old bricks or pieces of wood anywhere you see that the caterpillars could push under. I had a couple get away before I laid old bricks on the top.
