Deer fencing and birds

Doug, I may have used the wrong avenue to suggest this caution but I would like to tell of my experience using the so-called deer fencing.

The material that I used was a quite fine netting and stood around ten feet high. The problem we ran into almost immediatly was this fencing material was very difficult to see under some circumstances and thus a lot of the local wild birds would fly into said fencing and get caught.

We were constantly untangling little birds. We finally removed the fencing and resorted to other methods of attempting to discourage these deer but at least we weren't killing the wild birds any more. Just food for thought.
