Green Envy Echinacea

Green Envy Echinacea

Like the name says...this coneflower really IS green. As it matures there is also rosey pink in the flower, and the cones darken from green to russet-brown.

It's an expensive perennial because it's new on the market (at least in my area) this year and in short supply. The first one I bought didn't do well (the stock came in from some other nursery and the plants were a bit spleeny. The nursery where I purchased it offered a refund or exchange so I picked up a second plant from a shipment they got from another plant breeder. (then I bought another one for good measure.)

Both plants are thriving, putting up lots of new growth around their crowns, and haven't stopped flowering, either. I'm addicted to coneflowers and have had success with the Big Sky cultivars I have, so I hope that Green Envy will establish itself that well too! (Ask me in the spring how it overwintered!).

Thanks for supporting Green Envy

Ladies

So glad Green Envy is doing well for you -- the plant is super strong -- deep roots, strong flower stems and an abundance of flowers -- and as the plant gets older -- the flower gets even more green and the petals become more rounded -- like a zinnia in a way. So happy to hear my plant is so well loved and sought after

Jodi .. I am a fan of coneflowers too .. and yes .. the new ones to the market can be really expensive .. but not having the choice is frustrating too .. Kingston can be a little behind the times when it comes to that.
I like the green ! I have that on my list now too ! Thanks !

I also purchased Green Envy this year and it has done remarkably well. I hope for good results in the spring time too.
