My white bleeding hearts made a beautiful showing this year. They are in my front flowerbed in a shady corner along with my pink bleeding heart, fringed bleeding heart, bloodroot, firespray tulips, heuchera, astilbe, false solomon's seal, real solomon's seal, columbines, hostas, gentian and ligularia.
Its a big corner...haha...

I didn't realize there were lady's slippers amongst my bluebells until I was taking pictures of them for this contest. (Thanks, Doug! :D) Here's a closeup of one of them...lovely!

What are YOU lookin' at??
Well, as I was looking for pretty pictures, I happened to notice this ant looking at me from my newly opening bachelor's buttons. He obligingly posed for me as I snapped the shot.

My yellow and brown primrose was almost done and the colours had faded a little, so I decided to try a picture in sepia, and this is how it turned out...pretty neat!

Onions are beautiful too!
They are planted next to my Asparagus Fern. The fern makes a nice backdrop for the blooms.

I always look forward to the Leopard's Bane (Doronicum) coming up in the spring, because it is one of the first non-bulb plants that blooms in my flowerbeds and it brightens everything up with its bright yellow colour. This year was no exception, and I had a wonderful sunny show.

This white bleeding heart came from a plant sale and was labeled simply "Bleeding Heart." Imagine my surprise when it came up the following spring and it was white!

This tulip came from a parking lot that used to be a house and beautiful flowerbeds. When the house was demolished, people were told to take what they wanted from the flowerbeds, and this beautiful salmony-pink tulip was one of the bulbs that we got.

I was lying on the ground underneath our pine tree, trying to take a picture of my bluebells, and I happened to get the birdhouse in one of the shots, so then I actually tried to get it in the picture, and this is what I came up with.

My solomon's seal is planted beside an old stump and its decided on world domination...well, maybe not world domination, but it sure spreads out farther every year in the flowerbed!

My grandmother passed away many years ago, and from her I inherited a purple clematis, a red peony, and several purple tulip bulbs. This is one of those bulbs, and I have never seen another one in quite this shade.

This tulip is orange and red, but I thought the black and white really brought out the contrast of the colours.
