Garden Picture Contest 2011

One of the favorite things we (my readers and I) seem to enjoy are the regular photo contests we have. I donate some prizes and folks share their pictures. This year (2011) we're going with a spring theme right here. So here are the rules and suggestions.

  • You must have taken the picture and have the rights to upload it.

  • One photograph per entry (the form will take four but only one allowed per form)

  • Enter as many forms as you like (but only one pic per form) :-)

  • Winners chosen by 1) random draw so everyone can win 2) judges appeal factor - a great pic that speaks to the judge.

  • Prizes. Garden books, subscriptions to vegetable gardening course and advanced gardening course. At least 5 prizes will be given away and quite likely more.

  • Those pictures with lots of comments from other gardeners will be given special treatment by the judge (Doug) so do feel free to comment on pics you find lovely.

    A LOT of Plant Reviews Coming

    Friends - in the next week, I'll be adding upwards of 25 new posts about review plants in the garden. So you'll get a lot of email updates about them - my apologies. What I do is post how-to-grow information about each plant - and then as the season and trials get underway, I make ongoing notes about them.

    This system also allows you to comment on these plants if you've grown them or are growing them. It becomes a review partnership between us all to get the best sense of these new plants.

    And as they bloom and grow, I'll be adding pics to each post.

    This is the best way I can devise for getting good info about each plant to you as I see it happening. But it does mean a ton of email over the next week or so as I add them to the garden.

    Thanks for your patience - let the planting begin. :-)
