Gardeners Spend a Lot of Money

Homeowners spent a record $44.7 billion to hire professional lawn and landscape services in 2006 according to the National Gardening Assoc.

30% of all households, or an estimated 34.5 million households hire at least 1 form of a lawn and landscape service.

Lawn care and landscape maintenance services are the most popular services and were used by 27.8 million households last year.

Tree care was 2nd, used by 11.5 million households.

6.9 million households used landsape Installation and construction services.

Landscape design services were used by
2.3 million households.

I note this isn't even including plant sales.
