Giant Hibiscus Blossom

by Christa
(Kingston,Ontario,Canada)

The Botanical Garden in Hannover/Germany (August 2007) showed some wonderful displays of all shapes and sizes of Hibiscus. I just HAD to capture this Blossom. Notice its size, "almost" too large for the camera.

Christa .. what a fantastic shot ! It is almost too large to capture the whole flower ! .. I think you asked about my Blue Angel rose .. we are both in Kingston .. I think I misnamed the rose .. I think it is called Angel Face .. but still that amazing blue and still blooming so far ..
Love this picture !

This is to Fern - re: Giant Hibiscus blossom
by: Christa, Kingston

Fern, the colours in this picture are as close as they
were in Nature. My original has no dark maroon , rather a much lighter centre. The edges are more of a peachy colour, but I think, by "downsizing" and what
operating system is used, the colours are never as acurate. Do I have an artistic background??? Wished, I had. But I love to experiment (or did in earlier years) with things
that require some artistic "touch". Check back at Dougs blog, I will post a garden related item, which I created with
leafs of my (now departed) birchtree. If you like to contact me, I will give Doug my permission to give you my email address.
Thanks for your nice comment,
Christa

HIBISCUS TREE
by: Ferne, Kamloops, B.C.

Hi Christa...That German botanical garden sounds like a gem. Is this the true colour? It comes up a dark maroon with gold edge on my computer. A most unusual combination if it is an accurate read. I would have loved to see the tree itself. Keep 'em coming. I am looking forward to your pictures more than most. Do you have an artistic background?
