To Judi - regarding "God will strike me down"
by: Christa, Kingston

I don't think, God will do
anything of this nature.
We all would like to enjoy
HIS creations year round, but since that is impossible in our climate, people have
to be their own judge of what they can handle at this time of year. Why not just ask your neighbor next year, if he would leave his beautiful Annuals a little longer for everyone who passes by his place to enjoy. And if he has a healthproblem, that prevents him to work in very cold conditions (my Husband is one of these people), maybe he would appreciate your help in removing the plant material after the frost killed it. This way, you and a lot of other people would enjoy his garden and you would do a very good deed.
In any case, I think, you are very lucky to have a
neighbor who lovingly beautifies his property. My next door neighbor does not even cut her grass, rake her leafs in the fall or removes the snowdrifts. It sure is an eyesore, but she told everyone that complaint about the appearance to mind their own business. I sure would like to trade neighbors with you.

Nope.....he ain't that old
by: Judy

No, he's not that old....about my age or maybe just a little older (he just retired in last year). He's out walking all the time year-round. My hubby and I think that maybe it's just because he's fidgety and needs something to do.

maybe a reason?
by: Anonymous

Sad, but it might be that he is really bothered by cold. (If he's old and retired) Maybe he wants to do it before he has to go out in much colder weather.

Old School Gardening
by: Bare Bones Gardener

unfortunateky as we get older we tend more and more to get into comfortable ruts. We stick to what we have eperienced and learnt from our past.

This includes the things that we were taught by others while we were younger. This is one of those practices from the old school of gardening, probably from parks staff when they had other seps to go to get the gardens ready for the next season.
