Learning can't get any easier than this. Thank you so much.

No-Pump Tea
by: Renee Parks

I thought your videos were very well done. The quality of the picture and sound were excellent. I wondered, is it just as good if you make it without a pump, and would the steps be any different? Thanks!

I purchased the KIS system and it is making compost tea as I speak (write). I understand you use worm castings for the compost.
I have a worm farm and I can't wait for your video on that as I know I am not utilizing it as well as I might.
Thank you for such great gardening info brought to us in such an easy way (for us, at least).

thanks!

I really appreciate having the videos on this. I don't have cable anymore and so can't watch gardening shows, but even when I did I never saw anything on making compost tea. I still would love to see the method of using it in a cheesecloth 'bag' to keep from having to filter it, or on how to filter it after you've made it. I've heard about it elsewhere; would it make as good a tea as not using a 'bag' or as not filtering it?

Very informative video! Thank you so much for getting usable info out there. I have really been researching the web regarding compost tea. A few readers questioned testing and whether their tea was viable, etc. I found an amazing microbiologist Dr. Elaine Ingham, who formed the soil foodweb inc. This organization will test samples for you.

Thanks for opening up the gardeners eyes for us to see and use. I am really benefiting from so much info. Don't stop!

Doug says that Dr. Ingham is one of the leaders in this compost tea science and experimentation.

Sea weed for compost tea
by: Susan A

Great job again Doug
I like how you make it look so easy. I am having trouble finding seaweed. I live in a small town and what I found was seaweed salt. I used that so I could get started. I have made to lot of tea and spread it using the watering can.
I'm not sure if the tea is correct or not. How can one know or teast it? Where can I purchase the right seaweed as this one is almost gone?

Hi Doug. You make it look easy. As soon as I get a pump, I can go to work making compost tea to benefit the plants here in my yard.

Thanks Doug for your video. I would'nt even of thought about removing the filter...I would of clooged up for sure.
I also like that you metioned, that its even good for the leaves of the plant, I thought it was just for the soil..so..you see, I learned a few things today, keep up the great work, I tell all my friends how great your site is.

Doug: Thank you so much for your informative video's compost tea. Must find all the material that is needed and get started very soon. All I have is the 5 gal bucket. Hoping to see a huge improvement in my entire flower bed area and yard come 2009. Thank you, thank you for your efforts for it is so appreciated.

Again, your demonstration was clear and concise. Loved it! Glad to know that applying compost tea is really quite simple, but seeing you do it makes all the difference.

Like all your previous videos, this set on the compost tea is full of great information and so easy to understand. I love watching you actually doing the work as for me, seeing it is learning it. I look forward to all your videos and seminars, Doug. My garden is in a high altitude area and thanks to all your help I have been able to choose the plants that will grow here for me and have made a lovely courtyard garden. I had to truck in the first dirt as we live on rocks here and I have not had to buy anymore topsoil since following your instructions. Thanks Doug.

Compost Tea Making & Spreading
by: JanO

Hi Doug,
Both videos were very well done and I'm super impressed by the ease with which you hefted the full 5 gallon pail! Gardening muscles galore! I think you explained the fact that you can't overdo the use of compost tea. It can be done anytime you feel like repeating the process. My first attempt was with the aquarium pump and my bubbles looked just like yours. Thanks for the view of that. I used the leg of an old pantyhose to hold the shovel of compost. I spread it using a gallon pump sprayer and was able to leave the filters in place - no clogs. I just picked up a small bag of worm castings at the garden center and I'm going to use them for my next batch. My plants are looking fabulous, so I'm assuming by growth (and tons more night crawlers this year) that I'm helping turn my former gravel pit into a garden. You are a wonderful human being and I thank you for all your hard efforts. Don't get too slick on us please ;=)

Great! Tks!!

You're my hero. As a relatively new gardener I find your info invaluable and no matter what the media, I appreciate all your time that goes into your guidance. Thank you. I look forward to getting started "brewing" and more learning from you.

Great video Doug.
Can you use half the pail, replace the pump and run the mixture again? Can you add more food or water to extend the life of your mixture til the next day?
Is the compost tea "weaker" if you bag the compost ?
Does packaged compost have a shelf life?
Thanks

Keep up the good work Doug. You are doing a great job, and helping a lot of people. There are people who just like to be negative, please ignore them, and continue on. Thanks a bunch.

Great video. It really is simple :-).

I'm still using a aquarium bubbler. The tea seems to be working. My plants seem much healther and vigorous. How do you get compost tea tested and what are you looking for?

I thought the videos on compost tea were great now lets learn about compost!

Great!
by: Ann

Very helpful. It appears that the object of the water contact is more the plant itself than the soil. You emptied the watering can in just a relatively small area. Does this mean I would have to have many buckets full to cover my multiple beds on our two acre lot? How often do you do this?

Bravo! Keep up the good work in spreading not only compoost tea but valuable information.
