The compact version of Russian Sage. No matter how much I kept clipping it back .. no matter how dry and hot it got .. it flowered it's little heart out and I truly appreciated seeing that gorgeous flower against its foliage. I am embarrassed to say I think it is living in a "sand" pit with little soil to support it. So this is a winner for difficult areas in the sun !
Thanks for sending this picture. My Russian Sage
did not survive after my neighbor let his downspot hose drain onto our garden (He was not aware doing it!!) Now it is taking me a long time to replace everything we've lost that year, but I am hopeful, next year will be better.

Thanks Fern by: GardenJoy
Fern .. thanks for the comments on my other plants as well .. I have limited space and energy (haha) so plants that don't need a lot of attention and put up with tough love ? are becoming my favorites .. I really do love Russian Sage .. I have a full size one as well .. but for this spot I didn't want an overwhelming one so Little Spire has become a little gem ! I highly recommend it !

Compacet Russian Sage by: Ferne
Lovely! Have always liked Russian sage but actually pulled my last one out and discarded it...It was just too huge and overwhelming for the space I had at the time. Now I have more room and have bought another one...but this one would still be more practical, size wise. Individual flowers look to me like they might be larger proportionately to the size of the plant too.
