Night Blooming Cereus Catus

Received this plant from friends just a few weeks ago. It had three buds and I have had the privilege of watching them bloom. Two bloomed in the same night and the third a few nights later. They only bloom 2 or three times a year. Sometimes with many blooms and then at times only two or three. I was able to share the opening of the buds with friends both times. It is an exciting plant.

EXTOIC PLANT

My Mother gave me a cliping of this exotic place about eight years ago after bying my first house. The plant bloomed for the very first time on 09/03/08 for me this was so exciting. I tried to awaken my neighbor for her to experience this but was unable so I enjoyed this for my self.

Epiphyllum or "Queen of the Night"

I have one of these most unusual and beautiful plants. Last summer (2007), I was fortunate to have 35 blossoms. I take it outside on our deck in the late Spring until Fall and take it inside during the Winter months. Right now it it 6' tall and still growing. Until now I did not know what it was called, so named it Audrey after "Little Shop of Horrors"

Thanks for catching that. I will have to look more closely at my spelling.

Thanks all, this is a very big plant, maybe 4 to 5 foot tall. Gangly and not so pretty right. Hope to get it cleaned up for its next blooming time.

Cactus - not catus

That should read "cactus" but as soon as it's approved - to change it messes up the comments. So we've invented a new plant - a "catus". :-)
