Peony Madness

by Pat

On a warm June morning I was in my garden and bent over to smell a full-blown peony ,Sarah Bernhardt, and my foot slipped.I fell face first into the flower. It entirely covered my face and was so warm and soft and alive.Ive never forgotten that moment.

In my Garden, the one peony plant I have is always covered in carpenter ants, who for some reason just LOVE the thing. I would hate to fall face first into that-- sweet smelling or not!!
