Perennial Coneflower Pictures

I rather like the perennial Coneflower (Echinacea) because it blooms for a very long time in the full sunshine or light shade, is quite hardy in my USDA zone 4 garden and makes an excellent cut flower (although I never do take them as cut flowers)  Here are some pictures from my own garden trials.

Echinacea 'Hope'

'Hope'
This plant is a pale pink and is a fundraising plant for Breast Cancer.

Echinacea 'Razzmatazz'
Razzmatazz

A double blooming Coneflower, it is as hardy and easy to grow as any of this family.

Echinacea 'Big Sky Sunrise'

There are an increasing number of different colors being introduced by the breeders.  I particularly like this one.

Echinacea 'Magnus'

Magnus

Is an older variety but still one of the nicest in my garden.

Echinacea Fatal Attraction

'Fatal Attraction'

I happen to like this vibrant color on this plant and think iit may indeed be my favorite in the purple/magenta line.  I rather like the golden ring in the seed head.

Echinacea 'Fragrant Angel'

Fragrant Angel

This white blooming Coneflower is quite fragrant although it won't perfume a still night, it is quite lovely in a cut flower bouquet.

All of these plants are readily available at good garden centers.
