Pond Construction
The real information is that it takes longer to build a pond than a minute (really!) :-) and it takes almost as long to design and figure out how to actually go about building the darn thing.
The time you take in the preparatory stages of water garden construction comes back four-fold when actual construction starts. My experience is that many pond builders don't do enough research on the techniques of pond buliding before they put shovel to soil.
And then they try to figure out what went wrong and why their pond is such a pain in the anatomy to maintain.
