Pruning and Deadheading Perennial Flowers

by Doug
(in his garden somewhere)

When it comes to deadheading perennials or pruning them severely, there are two basic ways the flowers/stems join the plant.

From the base or from the plant itself at some point.

If from the base, cut the stem right off at the base

If from up within the plant, cut to the plant itself and if you do happen to cut into the main stem that holds the growing leaves - it's not the end of the world as we know it.

In any case, the video will show you how I handle (in a practical way) these two cuts as well as a few other innocent plants that got in my way during the video-shoot.
