Annual
Salvia PIctures
Salvia
are a wonderful family of plants and while the breeders have been
working overtime to bring us new colours, let me offer this somewhat
jaded gardener's point of view. Many of the "new" perennials
are at best hardy annuals and I'd suggest you check out each new
variety carefully before spending big bucks on a tough annual plant.
The plants on this page are indeed
annuals.
Salvia
'Victoria Blue' is an "olde and
golde" variety that still performs well for me. Growing 24-30 inches
tall, it will bloom from the end of June to September (deadhead it) if
planted as a starter plant in mid-May.
