Yellow glory

Yellow glory

I planted a tree peony in the spring of 2006, and the plant did nothing at all until this spring when it produced three glorious flowers.

Peony Power
by: Carla

I've never seen a tree peony in person, only in books, but the flower is truely beautivul! I have some old, old reg. peonies [I moved them with me when I moved] that still flower each year. I think the reason why yours did nothing that first year is it has to "get settled" in its new home for a year before it will bloom. This seems to be true even if you only move them a few feet. Yours should do even better next year!

This reminds me of a pretty southern belle, with the big hoop skirt! Lovely color!
