What's the World's World's Hottest Pepper?

If you guessed the jalapeno pepper (2,500-8,000 Scoville units) or tabasco pepper (30,000-50,000 Scoville units), you'd be wrong.


A Jalapeno pepper only measures about 2,500-8,000 on the Scoville scale of "hot". Tabasco peppers rank around 30-50,000 on that scale (way hotter) but the Bhut Jolokia measures a whopping 1,001,304 Called the Ghost Pepper (eat this one and you turn into a ghost)

Grown in northeast India, it is hard to find seed.

This plant should come with a *dangerous* designation - this is not something to eat or play around with but if you know what you're doing...
